[Video] Smoking is Forbidden in Islam

Many people say that smoking is only disapproved and not forbidden in Islam. In this khutba we start by looking at the reasons given by the Holy Quran for forbidding drinking – its harm is greater than any benefit one may derive from it. The harm of smoking is then considered against any benefits to show that the harm it causes is very great. Other verses of the Holy Quran such as do not endanger other people’s live and Allah forbids waste are considered to show that they apply to smoking and conclusion is that it is banned.
