Muslim Girls Banned from School

Some Western media and apologists often accuse Muslim men and Islam of controlling women and cite the use, by some women, of a head covering as evidence of such.

Yet all across Europe white men are passing laws to stop Muslim women wearing what they want. France has been in the news in the last few years for passing laws which restrict the freedom of women to cover their bodies if they wish to do so.

And now in the above video we find that thirty Muslim girls were sent home from a school in Belgium because their skirts were too long.

I have to wonder how the length of a girls skirt affects her ability to study at school and whether boys at this school have their trousers checked for how baggy they are..

This has nothing to do with protecting women and everything to do with demonising Islam and those who are followers of the faith.

Pakistan….Peshawar

Earlier this week, millions of people looked on in horror as the news filtered in of the devastating attack by the Pakistan Taliban on a school in Peshawar. 132 students were killed in an attack which specifically targeted as many children as possible. In total 148 people are believed to have been killed in the attack. Its difficult to find the right words at this time, the shock of this tragedy will be felt by all parents.

The Holy Quran says;
And a believer would not kill a believer except by mistake…And whoever kills a believer intentionally, his punishment is hell, abiding in it; and Allah is furious with him and He has cursed him and prepared for him a grievous punishment. [4:92-93]

A believer would not kill a believer – an instruction ignored in Pakistan on an almost daily basis. Attacks are so frequent in Pakistan that it seems to have become a part of daily life, but this was such an egregious attack that even the Afghanistan Taliban condemned it. People are asking how we can solve this issue, how can we stop this happening again?

Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad, in 1899 said the following;

This callousness and this immorality make many a Muslim appear no better than the beasts of the jungle. A Jain or a Buddhist is afraid of and avoids killing even a mosquito or a flea, but, alas! there are many among us Muslims who, while they kill an innocent man or commit wanton murder, are not afraid of the powerful God, who rates human life higher than that of all the animals. …

What is this callousness and cruelty and want of sympathy due to? It is due to this – that from their very childhood, stories and anecdotes and wrong views of the doctrine of Jihad are dinned into their ears and inculcated into their hearts, the result being that gradually they become morally dead and cease to feel the heinousness of their hateful actions; nay, rather, the man who murders another man unawares and thus brings ruin to the murdered man’s family thinks that he has done a meritorious deed; or rather, that he has made the most of an opportunity to win favour with his community. As no lectures or sermons are delivered in our country to stop such evils – and if there are any such lectures they have an element of hypocrisy in them – the common people think approvingly of such misdeeds…

So, the doctrine of Jihad proposed by these sects of Islam, as well as the belief that the time is near when there will arise a bloody Mahdi whose name would be Imam Muhammad, that the Messiah will come down from the heavens for his help, and that both together will kill all non-Muslim people if they deny Islam, is utterly opposed to our moral sense. Is not this the belief which puts out of action all good human qualities and morals, and encourages the qualities of life in the jungle?”

What has changed since these words were written in 1899? It seems that this could have been written just yesterday.

Sixteen-year-old Naba Mehdi, who attends the Army School in nearby Rawalpindi, had a message of defiance for the Taliban.

“We’re not scared of you,” she said. “We will still study and fight for our freedom. This is our war.”

Education is the golden bullet. Education is everything, it can be the catalyst for monumental change. And just like Naba said – This is our war.

‘Compulsory hijab’ school is shut down

A controversial Muslim school where staff were forced to wear the hijab has temporarily closed after concerns were raised by Ofsted inspectors.

They were called to the Al-Madinah free school in Derby to investigate a series of concerns, including claims that girls were made to sit at the back of classes.

It has not yet been confirmed whether other concerns, including the strict dress codes imposed on non-Muslim teachers and the segregation of girls and boys, were linked to the closure.

Nick Raine, a regional officer for the National Union of Teachers, who had been contacted by six teachers from the school with concerns about its practices, said shutting a school within hours of an inspection is ‘unprecedented’.

He added: ‘It must be quite significant for a school to be shut down so quickly.’ The school is already being investigated by the Education Funding Agency, from which it receives public money, over alleged irregularities over its grants.

How many times do we have to tell the British governments that Sunnis hide their real beliefs. When they meet ministers to get government funding they are nice and moderate but the truth is behind the scenes. For example, they say Islam does not force others to follow their rules but look at what this “Islamic” school was doing.

Pakistani Children Taught to hate at School

the hate content in textbooks has more than doubled since the last time they were revised. For example, some 30 Grade 5 to 10 textbooks published in Punjab, examined in 2009, were found to have 12 instances of biased material that could be considered “hate content.” In 2012, the textbooks underwent a curriculum revision. After another review, the total number of quantifiable instances of questionable or factually incorrect material went up to 33

The Sunni idea of a national textbook which almost every child in Pakistan must study is to propagate hate against the minorities who live in the country.

Modern Hindus are referred to as “gangsters” and Christians are referred to as “violent crusaders, and Jihad is explained only as “waging a holy war against infidels”.

Successive Governments have failed to make long term changes to these hate books, due to the power that Sunni religious leaders possess in the nation.

No meaningful change will ever occur in Pakistan as long as these Sunni extremists exert such power.

Anti-war Law School Professor Sends Email Criticizing Care Packages for U.S. Troops

Professor Michael Avery, a specialist in constitutional law at Suffolk University Law School in Boston sent out an email criticising the solicitation of care-packages for U.S. Troops, the following is the email as found in its entirety.

I think it is shameful that it is perceived as legitimate to solicit in an academic institution for support for men and women who have gone overseas to kill other human beings. I understand that there is a residual sympathy for service members, perhaps engendered by support for troops in World War II, or perhaps from when there was a draft and people with few resources to resist were involuntarily sent to battle. That sympathy is not particularly rational in today’s world, however.

The United States may well be the most war prone country in the history of civilization. We have been at war two years out of three since the Cold War ended. We have 700 overseas military bases. What other country has any? In the last ten years we have squandered hundreds of billions of dollars in unnecessary foreign invasions. Those are dollars that could have been used for people who are losing their homes due to the economic collapse, for education, to repair our infrastructure, or for any of a thousand better purposes than making war. And of course those hundreds of billions of dollars have gone for death and destruction.

Perhaps some of my colleagues will consider this to be an inappropriate political statement. But of course the solicitation email was a political statement, although cast as support for student activities. The politics of that solicitation are that war is legitimate, perhaps inevitable, and that patriotic Americans should get behind our troops.

We need to be more mindful of what message we are sending as a school. Since Sept. 11 we have had perhaps the largest flag in New England hanging in our atrium. This is not a politically neutral act. Excessive patriotic zeal is a hallmark of national security states. It permits, indeed encourages, excesses in the name of national security, as we saw during the Bush administration, and which continue during the Obama administration.

Why do we continue to have this oversized flag in our lobby? Why are we sending support to the military instead of Americans who are losing their homes, malnourished, unable to get necessary medical care, and suffering from other consequences of poverty? As a university community, we should debate these questions, not remain on automatic pilot in support of the war agenda.

Is America really a secular state?

An interesting article was written on The Washington Post website recently.

It discusses the role of religion in US politics. In theory the US is a secular state and religion plays no part in the affairs of the state. In practice, Christians, especially the conservatives, use their numerical strength to ban ideas they do not approve of, particularly in school teaching.
