Every week thousands of children in affluent Western countries sit down in their history classes at school and learn about the terrible inhumanities of slavery from hundreds of years ago.

But this is not something which is confined to the history books of the past. Slavery is very much prevalent here and now in these modern times.

In this speech we first look at the direct instructions given in the Holy Quran on what we should be doing to stop and/or reduce slavery in this World, and we then look back at the shameful actions of people during Britain’s periods of owning and using slaves. We compare them to the World today to show that although we may be a more sophisticated people now, nothing has really changed and we still enslave people primarily so that we can turn a profit.

We all know of the sacrifice made by Hazrat Ibrahim (AS) and his family during this time. On the command of Allah he was prepared to give up his son because he was commanded to do so.

But how does this message from Allah relate to our modern times? How will todays youth respond to such a message?

With Eid ul Adha rapidly approaching us Faizaan Ahmad gives a short speech in the above video on the meaning of sacrifice.
