Sunni turn to Lahore-Ahmadiyya beliefs again

Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad prophesied that Sunni Muslims will gradually accept the teachings and interpretations of the Ahmadiyya Movement. And by this we mean the Ahmadiyya Movement of Lahore.

Last year, when the British parliament held hearings in political Islam, all the Muslim organisations, including the Jamaat i Islami and Akhwan ul Muslameen hid their real beliefs and took refuge in our beliefs to save their skins. A few days ago the same thing happened at the British parliament’s hearings into the Muslim law of divorce.

The Sunnis turned to the Lahore-Ahmadiyya teaching again and again and again, denouncing their own beliefs and practices as being un-Islamic.The Truth of the Promised Messiah Prevails again.

Qadianis’ once again turn to our beliefs to save themselves

The video above is a Youtube video, in Urdu, of a question-answer session taken by the late Mirza Tahir Ahmad sahib, the previous khalifa of the Qadian jamaat. In the extract, he answers the question: Why do non-Ahmadi Muslims not consider Ahmadis (i.e. Qadiani jamaat) to be Muslims.

The answer by Mirza Tahir Ahmad sahib is in two parts. In the first, he says that the Qadianis have the same beliefs as Sunnis. He says that both of them believe that a prophet shall appear after the Holy Prophet Muhammad (s). They only disagree about who that prophet is, or will be.

Firstly this demonstrates that the Lahore Ahmadiyya Movement is the only Islamic movement in the world which believes that the Holy Prophet Muhammad (s) is absolutely The Last Prophet, after whom no prophet, old or new, shall appear.

In the second part, Mirza Tahir Ahmad sahib, then goes on to say that, for 12 years, the Promised Messiah patiently tried to explain his claim to Sunnis without calling them kafirs. He was patient to the extent that, a close relative of his who was an Ahmadi, appointed Maulvi Sana ullah, a vociferous opponent of the jamaat, as a teacher and imam for his family. After 12 years, the Promised Messiah pointed to the Holy Prophet Muhammad (s)’s Command, where the Prophet (s) said that if one reciter of the kalima calls another reciter of the kalima a kafir then the caller himself, becomes a kafir. He said that although he still did not call anyone kafir but by calling him a kafir, his opponents bring themselves under this Command of the Prophet (s).

But this is not the Qadiani stand. This is the stand of the Lahore Ahmadiyya Movement. The Qadiani stand is given in the book “The Truth of the Split” by Mirza Bashir ud Din Mahmud Ahmad, the Qadianis first khalifa. It says that even those Muslims who has not even heard the name of the Promised Messiah are kafirs. Mirza Tahir Ahmad did not mention this!

So how do the Qadianis’ deal with the issue of the writing in this book? At another question-answer session, we provided a Qadiani with photocopies of the relevant pages from this book and requested that he ask if Mirza Tahir Ahmad sahib was saying about kafir is correct then what did these pages of The Truth About the Split mean. Mirza Tahir Ahmad was left speechless, became angry and admonished that person for speaking to members of the Lahore Ahmadiyya Movement! This is how they deal with people who ask them questions about the writings of the people they believe were appointed by Allah to lead the Muslims.

Killing a Child is Killing Humanity

I cannot find any words for what happened in Lahore nor for the pain that will last forever for the families who lost their children, their mothers, their wives and their daughters.

Fighting at meeting over status of Ahmadi

From The Guardian:

A scuffle broke out on Tuesday between the two at a gathering of Pakistan’s Council of Islamic Ideology (CII) when the chairman, Mohammad Khan Sherani, called on the group to consider whether Ahmadis, who are declared non-Muslims by the constitution, should be considered murtads that have rejected Islam.

A declaration of apostasy by the constitutional body charged with advising parliament on lawmaking would likely put Ahmadis in even greater peril, given that many interpretations of Islamic law prescribe death for people who quit the religion.

Tahir Ashrafi, a liberal-minded voice on the CII, strongly opposed any discussion of the incendiary issue, prompting a furious confrontation with Sherani, who is also an elected member of parliament.

I wonder which Islamic doctrine these Muslims were following when they embrioled themselves in violence, in their Parliament no less, whilst trying to discuss the matter of putting into the constitution harsher laws on the ‘non-Muslim’ status of both Ahmadi movements.

Perhaps these Muslim clerics are unaware than even calling another Muslim a ‘kafir’ is stricly prohibited in Islam, let alone passing laws to do so.

Interestingly The Guardian goes on to say:

Pakistan’s 5 million Ahmadis already face considerable persecution because of their belief that the movement’s founder, Mirza Ghulam Ahmad, was a messiah

For the sake of clarity it should be made clear that the Qadiani sect believe that Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad was a Prophet, and even go so far as to claim that if he was not then no Prophet has ever come to this World.

The Lahore Ahmadiyya Movement in Islam correctly assert that he was the Promised Messiah and that the Holy Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) was unequivocally the last Prophet.

Sunnis turn to our interpretation of Islam and reform

For over one hundred years the Lahore Ahmadiyya have been saying that it is unlawful for a married man to simply say the word divorce three times consecutively to affect a divorce from his wife. Our Sunni brothers have consistently rejected our interpretation until a few days ago when the Pakistan Council for Islamic Ideology finally recommended that the ‘three in one’ divorce is invalid and attempts to use it can be classified as a criminal offence.

Last year the Pakistani religious courts threw out a case of rape because the only evidence to support the case was DNA. We gave a Khutba (Friday Sermon) to prove that the court was wrong. Now the Pakistani Senate has passed a law admitting DNA into evidence in these cases.

It may be happening very slowly but our Sunni brothers (whether they admit it or not) are turning to our interpretation of Islam as their guidance.

Eid Milad-un-Nabi

‘Holy Prophet Muhammad Day’, marked only by Ahmadis in Lahore, in April 1908

I am repeating, with some revisions, an item I posted here in April 2008, on the centenary of the function that it refers to.

It is reported in Badr, 30th April 1908 (p. 6) that an Eid Milad-un-Nabi function was held at Ahmadiyya Buildings, Lahore. (This was close to the end of the life of Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad, and a few days before he arrived in Lahore from Qadian.)

The function is not called Eid Milad-un-Nabi in this report but Bara Wafat. This was the term used by Muslims in India in those days, meaning “death on the 12th”, referring to the death of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (s) on this day.

Below I translate the report, which is entitled Life of the Holy Prophet:

A respected friend reports from Lahore that, on the previous day, a Tuesday, on the occasion of Bara Wafat, and for the benefit of the residents of Lahore, a grandly organised lecture was held at Ahmadiyya Buildings, where houses of our Khwaja [Kamal-ud-Din] sahib are located. The ground was very large and was decked with a marque and other necessities. It had been widely advertised in the city.

The poem in praise of the Holy Prophet written by Huzoor [presumably meaning the Promised Messiah] was read out by brothers Abdul Aziz, son of Mian Chiragh Din, and Ghulam Muhammad. Maulvi Sadr-ud-Din gave an explanation of the Surah Fatiha with great zeal and pure sincerity, and went over the events of the life of the Messenger of God, may peace and the blessing of Allah be upon him. Then brother Dr. Mirza Yaqub Baig spoke on the life of the Holy Prophet in a fine speech. The audience included Hindus, Muslims and members of the Brahmo Samaj. All the leading men of Lahore who could come were in attendance. The whole gathering listened patiently and attentively to the highly effective speeches of these young men, who were preaching using this new technique and method, and they went away expressing much praise.”

This meeting was also reported in other newspapers and was generally much liked. Hence the newspaper Watan wrote:

Just as there was great regret that there were no arrangements in Lahore for holding this great occasion of remembrance, there was equal pleasure that on 14th April, corresponding to 12th Rabi-ul-awwal 1326 A.H., on behalf of the Anjuman-i Ahmadiyya Lahore a magnificent meeting was organised by Khwaja Kamal-ud-Din, lawyer, High Court. Capable speakers delighted the audience by telling them about the life of the Holy Prophet and his excellent and praise-worthy qualities. It is hoped that in future many people in Lahore will organise events for such a sacred remembrance.”

The newspaper Sada-i-Hind expressed a similar opinion.

Comment by Editor Badr: It is indeed essential that the general public should be fully informed about the life of the Holy Prophet. We cannot complain about non-Muslims when most Muslims themselves are utterly unaware of the life of their beloved master. When such ignorant people realise how much we owe to the Holy Prophet, they will themselves want to recite the Darood spontaneously. This is in fact the philosophy of Darood. But I do not consider it right to fix one particular day forever, like Bara Wafat, for this purpose.”

This idea was then taken up by other Muslims and led to the development of the Eid Milad-un-Nabi function.

A Lahore Ahmadi freedom fighter passes away.

Dr Zahid Aziz informs us :

On Sunday last, 16th March, I watched live the webcast from Darus Salaam, Lahore, of the meeting held to commemorate the centenary of the death of Hazrat Maulana Nur-ud-Din. There was one speaker unfamiliar to me, by the name of Professor Jamil Umar, paternal grandson of Hazrat Maulana Nur-ud-Din, who delivered a detailed speech about the Hazrat Maulana’s life. It was most impressive and informative.

News has been received that the next day, while at his office, Prof. Jamil Umar died suddenly. Inna lillahi wa inna ilai-hi rajooon. May Allah have mercy on him and join him with His righteous servants, ameen.

Aged 62 years, he had been suffering from heart problems for the last two years. His janaza was conducted at Darus Salaam, Lahore.

Below is his story in the words of Prof Pervez Hoodbhoy, the famous Pakistani nuclear Physicist;

Saudi newspaper publishing Lahore Ahmadiyya research

Saudi_Gazette

The above photo is the recognition of the service and work of the Lahore Ahmadiyya Movement in the cause of Islam. This Saudi paper published research work by Hazrat Maulana Abdul Haque Vidyarthi, a scholar of comparative religions and world languages, to show that John’s prophecy in the New Testament regarding the coming a glorious prophet was fulfilled in the person of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (s).

Sadly, there was not recognition of the fact that the author was a Lahori Ahmadi Muslim. We ask this: If we are non-Muslims why is a Saudi paper using our research to prove the truth of Islam?
