The Holy Quran warns us against admiring people for their worldly possessions such as wealth and children and seeking to emulate them in gaining these things.

This envy leads to people doing everything they can, legal or illegal, moral or immoral, to gain such possession. Eventually, the whole society loses its perspective and we begin to judge people by their material possessions rather than by their qualities such as virtue and goodness.
