Press Release: July 7th Bombings

It was in July 1900 that, in his book called Jihad against the British, Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad, the founder of this organisation wrote:

Injustice pertainingto the rights of the creatures will be that the blood of humans shall be shed under the name of jihad so much so that one who will kill an innocent person will think that by shedding that blood he is becoming entitled to a great heavenly reward. Apart from this, many other types of violations of human rights will be carried out simply in the name of religious honour. (page 25)

It is as if he could see the atrocities, which were going to be carried out in the name of Islam over the next century and more.

Today, as we remember the innocent men and women who died on that dark day a decade ago, we should remember those words warning us of the great injustices in the name of Islam to human beings, which were to follow. All right thinking people should most forcefully condemn such acts, especially when carried out in the name of a religion.

Shahid Aziz, President of the UK branch of the worldwide Ahmadiyya Associations for propagation of Islam, said

We too cry with the bereaved whose loved ones had their lives cut short. We too remember sitting horrified, in front of our TVs, as the atrocity unfolded. As we remember them let us also remember members of the emergency services and public who endangered their lives and worked tirelessly to save as many people as they could. Perpetrators of such crimes contradict the Holy Qurran which gave this reason for creating th Muslim people : – “And if Allah did not repel some people by others, cloisters, and churches, and synagogues, and mosques in which Allah’s name is much remembered, would have been pulled down. And surely Allah will help him who helps Him. Surely Allah is Strong, Mighty.” (chapter 22, verse 40)

[Video] A Day of Shame

A day of Shame: 7th September 1974 is celebrated in Pakistan as a great day – a day of great achievement. And what was that achievement? It was on this day that the National Assembly of Pakistan whose building was surrounded by the a mob which threatened to burn it down if Ahmadis were not declared non-Muslims, caved in. It decided that a group of Muslims who recite the kalmia, perform Islamic devotions and are for all practical purposes Muslim, are not so. So, it is no longer up to an individual to decide what his faith is. It was a very dangerous thing to do and a day of Shame for Muslims of Pakistan.
