Who do we love
by VirtualMosque on Sep.08, 2010, under Our Videos
In many lectures I have used wives and children as examples to show that we would ,and we do, do everything in our power to please them. If our son rings up at 3 a.m and asks us to go and pick him up, we do it. But when it comes to Allah we start making excuses. In reading through the Promised Messiah’s discourses I came across a similar example and I thought I will share it with you.
The Holy Quran
by VirtualMosque on Sep.06, 2010, under Our Videos
Verse 185 of Chapter 2 of the Holy Quran makes it clear that this is not a new message but a compilation of what was revealed to all the prophets. It is also the standard by which all men, Muslim and others, can judge whether their beliefs are correct or not. It was the only scripture which was written down as it was revealed as well as being committed to memory.

It’s All Allah’s Fault
by VirtualMosque on Aug.24, 2010, under Our Videos
Human beings always blame Allah when things go wrong.
However what has gone wrong is usually the result of their own actions but they fail to acknowledge this. If you smoke and then get lung cancer then its not Allah who is making you suffer but the result of your own actions.
Allah answers the human complaint about being subjected to suffering in chapter 30 verse 41 and chapter 42 verse 30.
Fasting has to be Sincere
by VirtualMosque on Aug.19, 2010, under Our Videos
It was shown from the Holy Quran that fasting takes man closer to Allah such that man will find it as close to himself as his life-vein. But fasting has to be sincere.
This speech discusses this in more detail.
Fasting
by VirtualMosque on Aug.17, 2010, under Our Videos
The Holy Quran tells us that fasting is nothing new. Allah prescribed it for all religions and it was being made mandatory for Muslims. Unlike other religions the purpose of fasting in Islam is to guard one’s self against evil and not a kind of punishment for wrong-doing.
People forget that there is no compulsion in religion, so its not up to one person to force another to fast.
Just as importantly people also forget that God says he does not want to make religion a burden for us, therefore to force people affected by calamities and who are in distress and without means to fast is a clear violation of these two injections of the Holy Quran.
Where fasting is made mandatory it is also said that if its not possible for a person to fast he should feed a poor person as recompense. The Holy Quran does not define what is meant by if its not possible for a person to fast leaving it to the individual to decide in the light of his own circumstances.
Dreams and Inspirations

May people are proud of the fact that they receive dreams and inspiration from Allah.
Here Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad sahib explains that on the day of judgement it is our deeds that we will have to account for and Allah will not ask us whether we received any dreams or inspiration.
Remember Allah
by VirtualMosque on Aug.09, 2010, under Our Videos
Islam requires both faith and action. Therefore, people are required to say their ritual prayers as a matter of faith.
So, when standing in prayers they remember Allah but this verse tells Muslims to remember him after they finish praying. How then can we remember Allah after we have finished praying?
That is by putting into practice what Allah tells us. If a person is a businessperson and finds that they can make a profit by telling a lie they should remember Allah who has commanded us to speak the truth. This applies to all our daily actions and practices. In fact, our daily worship is closely related to the lesson in this verse of the Holy Quran. We begin our day by praying, we break our work or business during the day by praying, we break the time when we are relaxing to pray and the last thing at night we is to pray. In the intervening period we remember that although we are not praying we still remember Him by doing as He says.
